To say that I’m a Lauren Conrad fan is an understatement. I became obsessed with her girl next door So Cal vibe by watching her on Laguna Beach and The Hills. I even collected some DVDs of the seasons. Side note: MTV has so many great shows yet they continue to air Ridiculousness. Ugh. Certainly, whenever LC was on the cover of a mag I would shriek with excitement. Since her reality show days she has created an empire: Fashion and home lines with Kohl’s, her chic lifestyle website, and her nonprofit The Little Market. Is there anything she can’t do? Oh yeah, and now she has a beauty line, Lauren Conrad Beauty! FYI I’ve never shopped so quick.
Here’s a quick rundown of her new line:
- 5 piece collection including lipstick, lip gloss, lip + cheek tint, liquid highlighter, and liquid eyeliner.
- Clean vegan formulas meaning products are free of animal-derived ingredients and not tested on furry friends.
- Naturally-derived scents (no chemicals here!)
- Ethically sourced (products are made through responsible and sustainable methods.
- Non-toxic ingredients (here’s a list of their “Formulated Without” ingredients)
- Made with 100% recyclable materials.
I ended up purchasing the lip + cheek tint and lipgloss. Here are my thoughts:
The Lip + Cheek Tint in Peony
Although this is the only shade available in this product, the subtle hint of color did not disappoint. I think this may be my fav out of the two purchases. The rosy color looks lovely on my skin and gives the best natural looking flush. With my skin a little tanned the blush gave me such a pretty glow. The texture is like a balm which makes it super easy to blend onto the apples of your cheeks. Tip: Apply it after bronzer with your fingers (please do so with clean hands, you know Covid and all) and lightly let your fingers warm up the product. The color is buildable and creamy. Then use it on your lips as a base for the lip gloss. It made my lips feel soft and gave them a touch of color. Love how no fuss this is.
The Lip Gloss in Dawn
The best thing about this lip gloss is that it’s. not. sticky. 😉 I can’t be the only one who dislikes a sticky gloss where your hair or food gets stuck on your lips. Not fun. Dawn is a sheer nude color that layers very well with the lip + cheek tint above. The hydrating formula has rose oils making lips feel soft during and after application. Fun fact: The tube and cap are made out of Sugarcane Bio-Resin, a renewal and sustainable resource.
Will you try Lauren Conrad Beauty? What’s your favorite Laguna Beach episode from season one? Mines is probably the Cabo episode. Who’s with me?
