Happy Fri-Yay! What are your plans for the weekend? Here I have my latest Bare Bottles post where I give you mini reviews of a cleansing oil (my favorite!), a body lotion, and a face mist. Read about them below:
L’Occitane Shea Cleansing Oil
This cleansing oil is seriously the best, and my ultimate favorite. You apply it to a dry or wet face and the oil turns milky. This cleansing oil not only removes all of your makeup but it also leaves your skin super soft. Once I massage it all over my face I then use a cotton round to take off my makeup. I love to use this at night before I hit the sheets. If you have combo skin like me, don’t feel afraid to use a cleansing oil. I promise this one is super gentle and doesn’t cause any breakouts. I highly recommend this product!
Kai Body Lotion
I picked up this lotion after hearing some hype about it online. I wanted to see what the fuss was about. This lotion is made up of safflower seed oil, apricot kernel oil and cucumber fruit extract. For me the smell is a little hard to get use to at first, but after continuing to wear it I ended up liking the scent. It is definitely a unique scent that I haven’t smelled on any other lotion before. Kai products are also all sulfate, paraben, and phthalate free.
Glossier Rosewater Soothing Face Mist
You know about my fascination with face mists, right? I need to have one at all times. This one from Glossier was not a total home run for me. I will say that it is refreshing just how a face mist should be, but I did not like the smell of this rosewater spray. It has a chemical rose smell that reminds me of the nasal spray I use to combat my spring allergies (read about my first impression of it here). I’ve actually grown fond of rose scents and when I think of an authentic pure rose scent I immediately think of my Santa Maria Novella Acqua Di Rose. But to each their own: my sister ended loving this Glossier mist so much that she has been begging me to purchase it again for her.

I started using this BB cream when BB creams first started rolling out into the market. I think Maybelline was one of the first brands to have their own BB cream, but of course these types of tinted moisturizers can now be found anywhere. This one in particular I really like. It stays put all day, it gives me just enough coverage (I actually don’t like too much coverage), and it has SPF. This BB is perfect for everyday use. I apply it with my fingers or sometimes with a damp sponge.
Sebastian Potion 9 Travel Size
I first found out about this product on Pinterest claiming it works wonders on curly hair. Then singer Lorde confessed in a magazine interview her love for the product. I decided to try it out, but settled for the travel size version to test it out first. This product is a styling cream that is suppose to restore lost moisture. After using it on my damp curly hair I immediately saw a difference. There was less frizz than before and my curls became more defined. I ended up liking this product but don’t think I’ll pay for a full size bottle. To read a full review of this product go here.
Have you used any of these products? What products did you finish this week?
It’s been a while since I’ve done one of these posts but to be honest I really hadn’t finished any products until now. My last Bare Bottles post was back in April and since then I’ve gathered several empty bottles that I will absolutely write about soon. To get this post series back and running again I will review three products for you. Read about them below:
OGX Renewing Moroccan Argan Oil
This hair oil is a must for me whenever I get a blowout. My crazy curly hair responds well with this oil. This is how I use it: I take it with me to the salon (I can’t blowout my own hair to save my life) and then the oil is added to my hair after being washed. I always do a roller set on my hair and get under the dryer for 45 mins. When time is up and the rollers are removed my hair is left silky, making it much easier and faster to blowdry.I highly recommend this! (FYI the current packaging of this product is different from the one pictured above. It’s the same product just a different look).
VS Beauty Baked Mineral Bronzing Powder in Goddess
This bronzer worked really well. It definitely gave me a subtle glow without it being too much. Unfortunately Victoria’s Secret has completely downsized their beauty section so a lot of their products that I really liked including this bronzer are not available anymore. Sadness! I’m currently trying to find another bronzer to substitute this one. Any suggestions?
Target Up & Up Nourishing Nail Polish Remover
I personally like generic brand products and Target’s Up & Up range is no exception. When it comes to nail polish remover I honestly do not care about added benefits or anything like that, if it removes my nail polish then that’s all I care about. With this nail polish remover it simply did just that. Plus the price on this is crazy good.

VS Pink Body Mist in Sun Kissed
I first bought this body mist last April during a trip to Miami. Once I smelled it I was hooked. I wore it throughout my entire trip and now every time I wear it it always reminds me of Miami. It’s the perfect scent for summer beach days. It smells like coconut and vanilla.
Wow I had this oil for a while! I got it from a freebie table while interning at Cosmopolitan back in 2012 and up until a couple of months ago is when I really began to use it. This oil is meant to treat scars, cellulite, stretch marks and dehydrated skin. I used this on a large scar and around my thighs where I have some stretch marks. It works pretty well. But you have to be consistent with application in order to see results.
C.O. Bigelow My Favorite Night Balm
Okay this lip balm is the bomb! I got mines from Bath & Body Works for $7.50. I’ve been trying to buy a new tube in my nearest store but it was sold out for several weeks. This balm is meant to be applied before bedtime but I use it all throughout the day. It leaves your lips super soft and it is very long-lasting. I’m surprised more people don’t know about this balm. One of my absolute favorites!

Today I bring to you a new kind of post. I am showing you beauty products that I’ve recently finished. Lucky‘s editor-in-chief Eva Chen does similar posts like this on her Instagram. I think it’s a neat idea and decided to do a post like this for the blog.
Every time I finish a product I immediately toss it out but this time I kept each one that I finished so I can share them with you. Below is the list of the products and a brief review of each of them.
Olay Fresh Effects Dew Over Hydrating Gel Moisturizer
I first mentioned this moisturizer back in September. You can see the post here. I just finished the 1.7 oz jar. Like I mentioned in the older post, this moisturizer is hydrating and it has a great smell. A little goes a long way with this product. I’m always changing moisturizers so now since I’m done with this one I will be trying out a different one. This lasted me almost 5 months.
L’occitane Shea Butter Lip Balm Stick
This lip balm works really well. Something cool about it is that once you put it on you can touch your lips an hour later and still feel the balm on your lips. It’s definitely long-lasting. The consistency is really good too. It’s very moist (I don’t really like that word but it describes it perfectly). And the smell is delicate but neutral. One downside is that the stick doesn’t last very long.
MAC Oil Control Lotion
This lotion is an essential for me especially during the warmer months. During the summer makeup can easily melt off your face and you can look shiny and greasy. This lotion helps with oiliness and I even sometimes use it instead of my moisturizer and just go from there.
Honest Face + Body Lotion
I love everything about Honest products. I love how natural and healthy they are. This lotion in particular was good but it didn’t blow me away. The smell is very natural – it has almost like a plant smell. You have to get used to it. Also the lotion works well on the skin but it is very lightweight. If you’re suffering from really dry skin you won’t find a solution with this lotion.
Josie Maran Pure Argan Oil
This oil is a cult favorite of mine. I always replenish it every time I run out. I love that this oil is 100% natural and can be used for almost anything. I prefer to use it on my face or on occasional eczema breakouts. I like to add a few drops of this oil to my tinted moisturizer to have a smoother application. At nighttime I like to apply this to my face after cleansing. I usually buy the travel size version and it lasts a while.
Lavanila The Healthy Deodorant in Pure Vanilla
This deodorant is all natural meaning it’s free of toxic chemicals like aluminum and triclosan. I’ve used this deodorant before and reviewed it for Lovelyish. You can see the post here. At the time I felt just okay with it but I recently decided to give it another try. At first it is not long-lasting but there’s a good reason for that. It turns out that natural deodorants hardly ever work because people need to detox their bodies from anti-perspirants first and then the deodorant will last longer. I will soon write an anti-perspirant detox post detailing my experience.
